You're Not Elected,
Charlie Brown a review by Heith Carnahan The Basics It's time for student council elections, and loveable loser Charlie Brown wants to take a shot at the presidency. After a brief bit of scouting out the scene, Lucy reports back that he would have no chance of winning the election. However, Lucy discovers at the same time that her younger brother Linus would stand a very good chance, and good ol' Charlie Brown steps up to help Linus run on a pro-recess, anti-homework platform. Managing a campaign for office is tough sledding, especially when your candidate is prone to making off-the-wall stump speeches about The Great Pumpkin. But the Peanuts gang is out in full force to get Linus elected, and if they can keep his campaign gaffes under wraps, they might just have a chance of putting their man in office. What can you say? It's classic Peanuts gang action, and just in time for our own November elections in a few weeks. There is a wonderfully groan-inducing reference to another all-time Peanuts favorite, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and while You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown may never quite reach the classic status of the former, it will take its place among the countless classic Peanuts gang episodes to hit the airwaves in decades past. Don't miss this great opportunity to catch up (again) with your favorite Peanuts characters.
